PARISHVILLE - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged a Parishville man with driving while intoxicated at 3:29 a.m. Sunday after responding to a report of a Jeep in the water at the Blake McNeil Campground.

Deputies charged David C. Cole, 38, of 17 Maccarter Drive, with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

They said their investigation revealed he had driven through the campsites at Blake, gone between two occupied tents and struck a fire pit and a cooler before stopping just prior to entering the water. Deputies said he ran from the scene and was found hiding in the water.
