Pepsi-The Place booters turn back CJ’s-McDuff’s

OGDENSBURG - Pepsi-The Place outscored CJ’s-McDuff’s of Potsdam 5-2 in an early season matchup of North Country Men’s Summer Soccer unbeatens on Sunday at the OFA varsity field.

Grant Prudhomme netted three goals in the winning effort as Pepsi-The Place improved to 5-0 while sinking CJ’s-McDuff’s to 4-1. Matt Gladle and Kyle Manke struck for the other goals while Bill Gemmill handled eight shots backstopping the win.

Franco Bari connected for both goals in the losing cause.

In other games staged on Sunday, Vino Vidi Vici of Massena played to a 2-2 draw with Frary Funeral Home of Ogdensburg while Hoot Owl of Canton blanked Ogdensburg AMP 6-0.

Vino Vidi Vici 2, Frary 2: In Massena, Jeff Slack and Mike Stebbins scored goals while DJ Broadbent and Matt Levac each drew assists for the host. Al Davis fielded 18 shots working the crease.

Paul LaPlante and Jordan Spears broke through for the Frary goals.

Hoot Owl 6, AMP 0: At Canton, Travis Jordan fashioned a natural hat trick that boosted the Hoot Owl to a 4-0 lead. Davis Pynchon tallied a goal and two assists. Ryan Hayes connected for the other goal while Eric Hayes and Camden Siccone each produced solo helpers and Jake Newman made five saves posting the shutout.
