CANTON — The Rev. Michael H. Terrell, Northville, has been appointed pastor of the Canton United Methodist Church, 41 Court St.

His first service will be at 10 a.m. July 1.

A Schoharie County native, Rev. Mr. Terrell, 41, lives in Canton with his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Willow and Noah.

Rev. Mr. Terrell has served as the pastor at Barnerville United Methodist Church, Howes Cave; Northville First United Methodist Church and Wells United Methodist Church.

During his time in Northville, Rev. Mr. Terrell began a youth group that drew up to 60 children each week, taught lay ministry classes, directed and performed in a yearly dinner theater program and worked with a Cub Scout pack.
