ALBANY Center fielder Nick Chapman singled in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Albany Dutchmen past the Watertown Wizards, 6-5 on Thursday in Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League play at Bob Bellizzi Field.
The Dutchmen (6-6) snapped a three-game losing streak and dealt the Wizards (5-8) their fourth consecutive loss and first on the road.
Trailing 5-2, Watertown rallied to tie the game at five with three runs in the top of the eighth sparked by a two-run single from designated hitter Cole Gleason.
First baseman Jordan Enos went 3-for-4 for the Wizards, including a two-run double in the fourth inning.
Reliever Trevor Lacosse (3-0) pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the win for Albany.
Starter Bryan Chudy pitched six innings for Watertown, yielding three runs and striking out six, and reliever Kole Mickolio (0-1) was charged with the loss.
The Wizards, who are 3-1 on the road, play at Elmira tonight and host Oneonta on Saturday night at 7.
