Red & Black opens preseason schedule Saturday

The Watertown Red and Black semipro football team will play the South Buffalo Celtics in the first of two preseason games at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.

Watertown finished 6-6 last season, winning five of its last seven games before falling to Syracuse in the semifinals of the Empire Football League playoffs.

The team will host Amsterdam on July 7 in its second exhibition game, and will open the regular season at Monroe County on July 14.

■ The Watertown Revolution, in search of its first win of the season, will play the Oneonta Stallions at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Hartwick College.

Watertown (0-3) has dropped two straight home games, including a 33-20 loss to Glove Cities last week. Oneonta (1-2) is coming off a 56-17 loss to Troy. Both teams are in the Northeastern Football Alliance’s East Division.
