DWAI DRUGS - POTSDAM - Canton-based state police charged Joshua W. Cook, 17, Norwood with driving while ability impaired by drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under 21 following a traffic stop at 8:15 p.m. Saturday on state Route 56 in the town of Potsdam.
PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Winthrop-based state police charged two men Saturday in connection with an investigation into a larceny reported at 8:53 a.m. June 5 from the town of Brasher. Troopers charged Justin M. Currier, 22, of Waddington and Harold F. Martin, 25, of Massena with petit larceny. Joseph W. McGregor, 25, of Massena had been charged with petit larceny on June 14 in connection with that same investigation.
Troopers said the trio took the front blade and track off an abandoned bulldozer and a radiator off an abandoned dump truck as well as removing copper wiring from trailers on a four-acre lot off County Route 53 in the town of Brasher.
RESISTING ARREST - RAYMONDVILLE - A Raymondville couple were charged with resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration charges early Sunday morning after battling with troopers in the Raymondville Park.
Massena-based state police responded to a drunk driver complaint and located Jacquelyn B. Smith, 31, of Raymondville. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Troopers said Smith had driven to the park following an argument with her cousin at a Raymond Street residence.
Troopers said her boyfriend, Samuel V. Fitchette, 26, of Raymondville ran to the park clad only in his boxer shorts and attempted to intervene in his girlfriends arrest, refused to comply with police orders to calm down and then indicated he planned to fight the troopers that had responded to the incident. Troopers said he resisted when he was being taken into arrest. He was additionally charged with harassment and disorderly conduct. Smith then reportedly came to Fichettes aid and also struggled with troopers.
Fitchette was arraigned by Norfolk Town Justice George Grubee and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional with bail set at $1,000 cash.
Smith was also arraigned by Judge Grubee and released under the supervision of the probation department.
LEAVING SCENE - WINTHROP - Massena-based state police charged Dylan J. Adams, 19, of Akwesasne with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, moving from lane unsafely and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following an incident at 3:15 a.m. Sunday on state Route 420 at the Mahoney Road in the town of Stockholm. Adams and two passengers in his vehicle, Kody J. Bingham, 20, and Eric J. Sisto, 20, both of Fort Covington, were also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
DWI - MOIRA - Malone-based state police charged David G. Brothers, 50, of Brasher Falls with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop at 9:58 p.m. Saturday on Best Road in the town of Moira. He was also charged with a felony count of first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ticketed for having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle on a public highway, failure to keep right, failure to wear his seatbelt and an equipment violation for operation of a vehicle with broken glass. He was released on an appearance ticket.
PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT - NORFOLK - Massena-based state police investigated a one vehicle property damage accident at 5:45 a.m. Sunday off state Route 56 in the town of Norfolk. Troopers said the vehicle was being operated by K.M. Schwartfigure, 21, of Massena.
ASSAULT - MALONE - Malone-based state police charged Brad R. Oakes, 23, and William W. Lazore-Jackson, 32, both of Snye, Que., with third-degree assault following an incident at 3:15 a.m. Saturday at Kynas Different Pub, state Route 11B, Malone. Both men were arraigned in local court and sent to the Franklin County Jail.
DWI - ST. REGIS FALLS - Malone-based state police charged Stanley A. Arno, 24, of St. Regis Falls with driving while intoxicated and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle on a public highway following a traffic stop at 1:40 a.m. Saturday on Duane Street in the town of Waverly. He was also ticketed for having illegally ticketed windows and unsafe movement of a stopped vehicle.
DWI - BRASHER FALLS - Massena-based state police charged Shannon Giarratano, 35, of Massena with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop at 5:40 a.m. Saturday in the town of Brasher. She was also ticketed for illegally parking on a highway and operation of a vehicle with inadequate stoplamps.
TRESPASSING - WEST STOCKHOLM - Canton-based state police charged Charles E. Carow, 37, of Potsdam with trespassing and criminal mischief after taking him into custody Friday afternoon at 373A Heath Road. He was also ticketed for operation of an unregistered all-terrain vehicle and illegally operating an all-terrain vehicle on a highway.
Carow allegedly drive his all-terrain vehicle through a field despite several no trespassing signs bordering the property. Troopers said the field was damaged.
HARASSMENT - WINTHROP - Massena-based state police reported Saturday they had charged Joshua M. Kelly, 31, of Winthrop and Matthew S. Kelly, 33, of Winthrop with second-degree harassment on June 17 following an investigation into an reported to troopers at 11:36 p.m. June 9 from the town of Stockholm.
PERSONAL INJURY ACCIDENT - DEKALB JUNCTION - Canton-based state police reported one person was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 11:58 a.m. Friday on state Route 11 in the town of Dekalb. Troopers said the vehicles were being operated by Tabitha C. Best, 16, of Canton and Shauna R. Sears, 24, of Richville.
PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT - WINTHROP - Massena-based state police said David J. Murray, 40, of North Lawrence was involved in a one-vehicle property damage accident at 10:55 p.m. Friday on the Skinnerville Road near the McCarthy Road in the town of Stockholm.
PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT - WADDINGTON - Canton-based state police said Leon T. Dalton, 66, of Waddington was involved in a one-vehicle property damage accident at 10:35 p.m. Friday on the Irish Settlement Road, near Tiernan Road, in the town of Waddington.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT - MASSENA - Village police charged Michael J. Durand, 47, of 16228 Route 30, Constable with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest at 9:12 p.m. Friday. Police said they responded to Park Avenue disturbance complaint and found a reportedly heavily intoxicated man seeking to get into other people;s vehicles, opted not to follow police requests to modify his behavior and then struggled with officers when he was being taken into custody on the disorderly conduct count.
COUNTY COURT WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Jarrod J. Lanning, 24, of Massena on a county court warrant at 3:30 p.m. Friday at his mothers residence at 96 Cook St. He was transported to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, where he will be held pending an arraignment in county court.
FAILURE TO KEEP RIGHT - MASSENA - Village police ticketed James C. LaBaff, 68, of 139 Jefferson Ave., Massena, for failure to keep right at 9:15 a.m. Thursday following a property damage accident.
UNLAWFUL POSSESSION - MASSENA - Village police charged Michael J. Jackson, 39, of Fort Covington with unlawful possession of marijuana at 3:16 a.m. Saturday on Church Street.
FAILURE YO YIELD - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Kaylee M. Hartley, 19, of Edwards for failure to yield right of way at stop sign following a property damage accident at 12:10 p.m. Friday on Country Lane at state Route 56.
