BRASHER FALLS — Clara C. Lafave, 69, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington, VT, with the love of her family beside her. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.

Clara was born on September 9, 1942 in Moira, daughter of Samuel E. and Edna (Gale) Lafave. She attended the Rochester School for the Deaf, graduating in 1961. Family was important to Clara, as they all shared unconditional love and support for each other. She was a member of the NNY Association of the Deaf.

She is survived by her mother, Edna, her brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Barbara Lafave of Brasher Falls, five sisters and brothers in law, Linda and Ronald DeShane, and Gail and Gerald Johnson, Sr. both of Brasher Falls, Starr and Gary McMahon of Bombay, Caroll and Phillip Moulton, Sr., Sharon and Perry Stowe, both of Brasher Falls, brother in law, Alton Kelly of Brasher Falls, several nieces and nephews. Her father, Samuel, her sister, Gloria Kelly, a niece, Lisa Johnson Almond and a nephew, Evan Premo, predeceased her.

There will be no calling hours; her family will commemorate Clara’s life at a private graveside service at Carville Cemetery in Helena.
