MASSENA - Three people were taken to Massena Memorial Hospital following a two-vehicle accident late Friday morning on state Route 37 at Haverstock Road, Massena.
Stephanie N. Rogers, 16, of Massena was later taken to Fletcher-Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt. for a head injury. Hospital officials said she was still being evaluated Friday evening.
An 8-year-old child in Ms. Rogers vehicle was treated for a contusion to the head. She said a rear seat passenger
The driver of the second vehicle, Dana Cook, 30, of Akwesasne complained of pain to right ankle.
None of the injuries were considered life threatening.
Massena-based state police said Ms. Rogers was traveling northbound off Haverstock Road extension in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix and failed to yield the right of way to Ms. Cook, who was driving a 2002 Chevy Tahoe on state Route 37.
Also on the scene were the Massena Volunteer Fire Department, Massena Rescue Squad and Seaway Valley Ambulance.
Traffic continued to flow in both directions on Route 37 while rescue personnel worked to remove the victims from both vehicles.
Tickets are pending, according to police.
