FORT DRUM — A soldier from the post has been selected to appear on NBC’s “Today” show at 8:45 a.m. Sunday.

Staff Sgt. Carlos J. Quiles, of 511th Military Police Company, 91st Military Police Battalion, will compete against a Navy sailor on the program.

Staff Sgt. Quiles in February captained the post’s culinary team, which won a combined 36 medals at the 37th U.S. Army Culinary Arts Competition at Fort Lee, Va. His centerpiece, a sculpture of an octopus made of potatoes, was named the Most Artistic Exhibit in Show.
