OGDENSBURG Another day, another report of vandalism.
City police Friday saidthey received three criminal mischief calls Thursday night, capping a day in which they were kept busy answering several other vandalism-related calls.
Sgt. Michael Bouchard is convinced the same youthful offenders are behind the damage being done.
They do stupid things all the time, he said Friday. I am under the impression that it is all the same group.
Mr. Bouchard said the number of criminal mischief calls Thursday amounted to a melee for police.
The incidents all believed to have occurred Wednesday night. They were reported to police as:
nAt 8:15 p.m., a swing on a chain was seen being twisted by a youth in the playground at New York Avenue Park.
■ At 7:25 p.m., a window was broken at a residence at 720 Montgomery St.
nAt 6:21 p.m., at a residence at 330 Seymour St., a vehicle was sprayed with a fire extinguisher.
nAt 11:30 a.m., at a residence at 400 Caroline St., iron fence poles were bent over.
nAt 9:45 a.m., at a residence at 322 Franklin St., a U.S. flag was stolen.
nAt 9:10 a.m., a rock was thrown through a window of an excavator at the Lake Street pedestrian bridge construction project.
nAt 9:08 a.m., a fence was broken and night lights removed from the garden at St. Johns Episcopal Church, 500 Caroline St.
nAt 6:43 a.m., a van was damaged by paint from a bucket in the parking lot at the Salvation Army, 401 Franklin St.
