The Ogdensburg Maples continued to ride excellent pitching and hitting en route to a sweep of Adams Glass of Plattsburgh 8-0, 16-5 on Saturday after a 15-0 win at Canton on Friday in 19-Under baseball action.
The Maples will face Malone at the Raymondville field near the American Legion for a pair today starting at 10 a.m.
Maples 8, Adams Glass 0: Geoff Baldwin went the distance in game one with 12 strikeouts. Baldwin, who allowed just three walks and two hits, also helped his cause with a double and a single.
Breton LaRose stroked a double and two singles, Jared Knowlton ripped a double and a single while Brendan Arsenault tripled and Andrew LeBeau singled twice. Pat Cosmo and Cavan LaRose both connected for doubles.
Maples 16, Adams 5: Maples, pitcher Jared Knowlton got a big boost from a 12 run fifth. Knowlton fanned seven batters, walked two and scattered nine hits while aiding his own cause with a pair of singles.
Kinnon LaRose stroked a double and a single and scored three times while Bryant Wentworth stroked three singles, scored three times and played strong defense at shortstop.
Other Maple contributions came from: Andrew LeBeau (single), Brendan Arsenault (double, single), Breton LaRose (single) and Geoff Baldwin (double, single).
Maples 15, Canton 0: In Canton, Brendan Arsenault fanned eight batters and allowed two walks and one hit through four innings and Kinnon LaRose worked the final three innings and surrendered just three hits and no walks while fanning seven batters in completing the shutout.
Geoff Baldwin belted a homerun, a triple and a single while Andrew LeBeau crushed a homerun and two singles and Breton LaRose smacked a homerun and a single. Kinnon LaRose raped a double and three singles while Jon Tayler supplied four singles.
