CANTON — Pierrepont and Colton firefighters extinguished a blaze at 62 Post Road early Saturday.

The fire started in a garage, and the alarm was sounded at 12:28 a.m. A 1994 Chevrolet Suburban owned by Molly Johnson was destroyed, but firefighters were able to save the garage and adjoining house, with only minor damage to the garage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
