MASSENA - John R. Boyce was unanimously selected as the new board president for the Massena Central School District’s Board of Education Monday night. He was nominated by Ronald A. Faucher, who was elected as board vice president, with board member William G. Sommerfield casting the lone vote against Mr. Faucher.

They replace past President Leonard A. Matthews and former Vice President Gregory C. Fregoe, who lost his bid for reelection in May.

Mr. Faucher had previously served as board president prior to Mr. Matthews’ selection in July 2011.
