HOGANSBURG - The FC Freeze overcame a quick Akwesasne start to claim a 3-1 decision in North Country Womens Summer Soccer action on Tuesday.
The home team opened the scoring just seven minutes into the game before the Freeze pulled even in the 15th minute when Brianne Hayes finished off a play set up by Emily Sloan.
Alicia Jones made it 2-1 early in the second half off an assist from Cassie Grace who sealed the win with a successful long range loss in the 62nd minutee.
Jones (5 saves) and Tarah Evans (6 saves) shared goaltending duties in the win.
In the other games played Tuesday, Massena Savings and Loan blanked Tons Sports Bar 3-0, Dow Electric stopped Norwood-Norfolk 2-0 and Harrisville clipped Canton 1-0. The Lounge at Edwards-Knox was postponed.
