MENACING - MASSENA - A Massena man reportedly suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder was jailed on $1,500 bail Saturday after he allegedly grabbed two large kitchen knives and threatened to kill his wife.
Village police charged Steven Huber, 45, of 218 Jefferson Ave., Massena, with second-degree harassment, second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child at 4 p.m. Saturday following a domestic dispute complaint.
Lisa S. Huber told police her husband became enraged when she tried to take a nap after caring for a a sick child and during the argument bumped her with his chest while he was yelling at her. He also reportedly threw her on the floor and threatened her when he had possession of the two knives. The argument took place in the presence of two children, ages 2 and 3, police said.
Court documents indicated Mr. Hubert is a former U.S. Army Ranger and has been diagnoised and treated for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
He was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $1,500 cash.
