Dow Electric denies Akwesasne in women’s soccer action

POTSDAM - Dow Electric turned back Akwesasne Sports in a North Country Women’s Summer Soccer game staged at Pine Street Park on Tuesday.

Dow Electric took a 2-0 lead in the first half on goals by Niki Perkins and Ari Czech.

Karyss Terrance cut the deficit to 2-1 late in the first half. Karley Cree tied the game early in the second before Dow Electric countered with goals by Brooke Enslow and Cat Andrews to remaining undefeated on the season.

Steph Collins had eight saves in the winning effort.

FC Freeze 3, Canton 1: Kerri Keegan netted a pair of goals to spark the Freeze. Cassie Grace netted the other off an assist from Sarah Elliott.

Sarah Baker connected for the lone goal in the losing cause.

Elliott finished with a pair of helpers while Alex Weston made six saves working the crease for the win.

Brynn Tebo stopped 10 of the shots she faced in the losing cause.
