CARTHAGE State police in Carthage arrested two teenagers Tuesday afternoon as suspects in an overnight burglary at J & B Ice Cream, 36426 Route 26.
Nicholas A. Bozzi, 16, of 8021 Jefferson County Drive, Fort Drum, and a 14-year-old, whose name is not being released because he is a juvenile, were charged with third-degree burglary at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the press box of Carthage Central High Schools football field, which is just across the street from the ice cream shop.
Troopers said they are accused of stealing $738 in cash and more than $100 in coins from the shop as well as a laptop and computer accessories, valued at more than $800.
The incident was reported by the owner at about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday after he found that someone broke into his business through the front door, police said.
Mr. Bozzi was arraigned in the West Carthage Village Court and was remanded to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on a $10,000 bail.
Troopers said his accomplice will have his case heard before the Jefferson County Family Court.
