P-H U17 girls go 2-0-1 at M-W Select Soccer festival


MADRID - The Parishville-Hopkinton U17 girls team generated two wins and a scoreless draw at the Select Summer Soccer festival hosted by Madrid-Waddington on Wednesday.

P-H 4, Colton-Pierrepont 0: Samantha Stone connected one minute into the game and P-H never looked back to win the first of three 45-minute games. Michaela Cole made it 2-0 in the 15th minute off an assist from Kodi Perkins, who struck in the 29th minutes. Cole closed out the scoring with 11 minutes remaining. Marlee Wilson handled the lone shot she faced to post the shutout.

P-H 0, Madrid-Waddington 0: Wilson had five saves and Cole stopped a penalty shot to highlight a stingy defensive effort by both squads.

P-H 3, Heuvelton 1: Michaela Cole opened the scoring when she converted on a corner kick by Perkins in the fourth minute. Cassara Cole connected from Perkins three minutes later. Perkins sealed the win assisted by Cassara Cole with eight minutes left. Wilson combined with Jenna Converse and Michaela Cole to made six saves in sharing crease duties.
