CKON FM and Fort Brickhouse Pizza knocked off defending champions Ogdensburg Pepsi-The Place from the unbeaten ranks on Wednesday with a 3-2 win in North Country Mens Summer Soccer League play.
After Mike ONeil scored for Ogdensburg Pepsi - The Place in the first half, Tim Cook drilled home a shot from the top of the box to tie the game at 1-1. Mark Darling produced a goal from David Henrie off a cornerkick for a 2-1 halftime lead from CKON-Fort Brickhouse Pizza.
Ted Cook produced an assist on a goal kick to Rob Chambers who made it 3-1 in the second half for CKON-Fort Brickhouse Pizza in a scramble. ONeil made its 3-2 later for Ogdensburg Place-The Place.
Ted Cook had nine saves for the winners. Bill Gemmill stopped 13 shots for Ogd. Pepsi-The Place.
In other action, Ogdensburg AMP-Jrecks Subs tied Vino Vidi Vici 2-2 and Frarys received a forfeit from Country Seat Realty.
AMP-Jrecks 2, Vino-Vidi-Vici 2: After Vino-Vidi-Vici took a 2-0 lead, Nelson Obandyen and Bebon Adams scored second half goals for Ogd. AMP-Jrecks. Obandyen came on a penalty kick and Adams coverted from JP Burns. Matt Tolman had eight saves for Ogdensburg.
Phil Mason scored unassisted and Jessie Murray connected for the second from Justin Rushlow. Alan Davis had 15 saves.
