Betsy D. Penrose, Jefferson Community College vice president for students, has been presented with the William A. Troy Service Award.

The award was given during the State University of New York Financial Aid Professionals conference April 19.

Mrs. Penrose has been vice president for students since 2006.

“It is wonderful to see Vice President Penrose’s accomplishments recognized and celebrated by her SUNY colleagues,” JCC President Carole A. McCoy said in a news release.

“Making higher education accessible to students of all abilities and financial means has always been and continues to be a critical focus for Betsy. She truly has made a positive and measurable impact on access to higher education for students in our community.”
