FC Freeze youth soccer update

CANTON - The FC Freeze u14 and u16 Team One boys teams clinched first place in their respective Northern New York Youth Soccer League divisions for the first time with wins this past week, while the u18 Boys moved to within sight of their third-straight league crown.

U14 BOYS

FC Freeze 4, General Brown 1:The Freeze ran its unbeaten record to 6-0 by downing General Brown at Glen Park Friday. Adam Kelley (Lisbon) struck unassisted for the only goal in the first half and the Freeze came on strong in the second half, adding three more goals to one lone goal by General Brown. Wyatt Snell (Parishville) connected for a pair of goals assisted by Peyton Lalone (Ogdensburg) and Kelley. Maxwell Ahrens (Ogdensburg) rounded out the scoring on a goal assisted by Kelley. This latest win continued the undefeated streak for this team and brings their record to 6-0-0 on the season.

Dominic Molinari (Ogdensburg) earned the win in goal for the Freeze, who host Thousand Islands Friday at 6:45 p.m. at St. Lawrence University.

U16 BOYS

FC Freeze Team One 2, FC Freeze Team Two 1: In a game at St. Lawrence Monday, FC Freeze Team One ran its record to 6-0 to claim first place in the league with a tough win over FC Freeze Team Two (4-3). Jake Watson (Canton) scored off a direct kick in the first half for Team One and Peter Clark (Potsdam) scored from Matt Normandin (Potsdam) in the second half for a 2-0 lead. Wyatt Snell (Parishville) scored from Adam Kelley (Lisbon) to close the gap for Team Two.

Both teams play at Indian River next Monday at 6 p.m., with Team Two closing out its season against General Brown and Team One playing Ultimate FC.

U18 BOYS

FC Freeze 7, General Brown 2: n a home game at St. Lawrence last week, Aaron Sharlow (Malone) scored three goals to lead the first-place Freeze to an easy win over General Brown. Tyler Gallagher (Parishville), Aaron Cobb (Heuvelton), Jon Sloan (Heuvelton) and Brandon Mack (Canton) had the other Freeze goals.

The Freeze play at Thousand Islands Thursday at 6 p.m.
