"Earlson L. Newell, 26, of 159 Mechanic St., is free on $2,500 bail following his arrest by state police Monday on charges of fourth-degree grand larceny and second-degree identity theft.

He also is charged with third-degree unlawful possession of another person’s identification. Bail was set by Adams Town Justice Donald B. Shaw.

Police allege that he ran up a $501 bill on a credit card belonging to Meghan Robinson, Adams. He awaits possible grand jury action.
