"MASSENA - Add former Massena Central standout Tyler Hayes to the list of top finishers from the North Country competing at the Utica Boilermaker 15K run.

Having completed another successful junior year as a member of the track and field and cross country teams at Utica College this past spring, Hayes placed 136th overall with a chip time of 56:42.

Hayes ran the Boilermaker along with his mother, Rachelle, and sister, Nicole. He is the son of Massena Central Athletic Director Tim Hayes.

The 2012 Boilermaker was held on Sunday, July 8, and had a field of 11,359 runners.
