McDuff’s-CJ’s, CKON-Fort Brickhouse notch conving Men’s Soccer wins

McDuff’s-CJ’s and CKON-Fort Brickhouse pulled away to convincing North Country Men’s Summer Soccer victories on Wednesday.

CKON-FB 4, Massena Vino Vidi Vici 1: At Mike Nicholas Field in Massena, Tyler Jaquith opened the scoring for Vino Vidi Vici with the lone goal of the first half before CKON-FB took control with four unanswered goals after the break.

Dan Gerow sparked the comeback with three straight goals off assists from Jordan Lauzon, David Henrie and Tim Cook. Henrie closed out the scoring off an assist from Cook.

Ted Cook made five saves backstopping the win while Alan Davis turned aside 10 shots working the crease in the loss.

McDuff’s-CJ’s 5, Hoot Owl 1: McDuff’s-CJ’s led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Franco Bari assisted by Mark Howlett but the Hoot Owl tied the game early in the second when Travis Jordan finished off a play set up by Colby Young.

McDuff’s-CJ’s countered with four straight goals to come away with the win. Bari fashioned the eventual game-winner assisted by Tyler Gallagher, who made it 3-1 off an assisted from Willi Steinrotter. Jon Huckle got the fourth McDUff’s-CJ’s goal assisted by Adam Parker before Steinrotter closed out the scoring with an unassisted strike.

Luke Seymour made five stops working the crease in the win while Jake Newman had 13 saves in the loss.

In the other game played on Wednesday, Frary Funeral Home of Ogdensburg downed Murray’s-The Place of Lisbon 3-0. Chip’s Place vs. Potsdam County Seat Realty and Pepsi-The Place at Parishville were postponed.

Frary’s 3, Murray’s-The Place 0: Chris Frary, Paul LaPlante and Jordan Decker riffled shots past Murray’s-The Place keeper Nolan Fletcher (nine saves) for the victory for Frary’s who led 1-0 at haltime. Nate Beaulieu stopped seven shots in the shutout.

Division II: Hoot Owl-North Country Savings Bank 8-3-1, Parishville Timberwolves 5-3-2, Ogd. Frary’s 4-5-2, Vino Vidi Vici 3-8-2,. Ogd AMP-Jrecks 2-6-2, Country Seat Realty Potsdam 1-9.
