Janet P. Dana, 69, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012 resulting from a car accident.
Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
Janet was born January 1, 1943, in Malone, the daughter of the late Raymond and Jean (Tryon) Noreault. She was a graduate of the Winooski High School and a 1965 graduate of UVM where she obtained her Masters Degree in Education. In 1965, she began teaching at Brushton Moira Central School, teaching in the English Department and retiring in 2000. On August 20, 1966 she was united into marriage to Donald Dana at St. Stevens Church in Winooski, Vt.
Janet loved her family and cherished every minute spent with her grandchildren. She found much peace in reading a good book, enjoying the fragrance of a beautiful flower, or baking a delicious dish. Janet put great value on the simple enjoyments in life.
Besides her husband, Donald she is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey Dana of North Lawrence, and Alan Dana of Plattsburgh; a daughter Beth and Chris Kemp of North Lawrence; two brothers, James (Judy) Noreault and Richard (Lorna) Noreault, both of Colchester, Vt., as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she is predeceased by a daughter-in-law Laurie, two granddaughters Caitlyn and Lauryn Dana, and Iris Collins.
Memorial contributions in Janets honor may be made to the Moira Historical Society.
Calling hours will be held Monday, July 23, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at St. Marys Church, Brushton with the Rev. Christopher Looby celebrating and the Rev. Gerry Giroux concelebrating the mass.
