■ GOUVERNEUR — In Saturday’s caucus of village Republicans, Shelly Washburn was chosen to run for a one-year term on the Board of Trustees in November, while Ronald P. McDougall and incumbent Charles W. Newvine were chosen to run for two-year terms, according to Chairman Eldon B. Conklin.

n LYONS FALLS — The village is considering submitting an application for a $400,000 state Community Development Block Grant for housing rehabilitation. Homeowners and landlords interested in receiving aid for repairs or renovations may call Snow Belt Housing Co. Inc. at 376-2639. The application is due Aug. 16. Income limits apply.

n OGDENSBURG — Rep. William L. Owens has asked federal officials to consider tracking wait times at the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge. U.S. Customs and Border Protection does not track wait times because traffic is deemed insufficient, and Mr. Owens has asked what criteria are used. Times are tracked at the Thousand Islands and Massena bridges.
