CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - POTSDAM - Village police charged Rodney W. Waite, 62, of Potsdam with fourth-degree criminal mishief on Monday. Police said he broke another person’s television during a dispute at 6:15 p.m. Monday on Maple Street. He was arraigned by Acting Potsdam Village Justice Margaret Garner and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $500 cash/$1,000.



UNNECESSARY NOISE - POTSDAM - Village police charged Shane R. Healey, 19, of Potsdam with an unnecessary noise - yelling violation at 1:26 a.m. Sunday on Maple Street. Police said patrols responded to a noise complaint on Maple Street and found Healey was hosting the party.

0200 Provided a courtesy transport for a village resident from CPH to her home.

0207 Traffic stop on Pierrepont Avenue. Verbal warning issued.

0526 Dispatched Potsdam Rescue to a call.

0806 Patrol dispatched to a complaint on Bay Street of unauthorized construction vehicles traveling to and from SUNY Campus.

1014 Prescription bottle containing controlled substance turned in to police station for disposal.

1059 Patrol provided funeral escort for Seymour Funeral Home.

1108 Patrol dispatched to property damage accident intersection of Union and Elm streets.

1148 Traffic stop initiated. Verbal warning issued at intersection of Main and Cedar.

1154 Received report of reckless driver on Pierrepont Avenue. Vehicle located and traffic stop initiated.

1215 Patrol received a report of a suspicious person while on routine patrol. Subjects were checked out and no evidence of unlawful activity was evident.

1240 Equipment inspection done for town of Potsdam resident for NYSP summons returnable to Potsdam Town Court for inadequate plate lamp.

1429 Patrol dispatched to the Potsdam Plaza to investigate a hit and run accident.

1429 Caller requests assistance in making contact with her daughter. Further investigation revealed that the subject in question resides outside of the village limits and the caller was referred to the NYSP for further assistance.

1441 Norwood resident requested her fingerprints taken for RN licensing in the State of Florida.

1454 Record checks requested and done on seven casino gaming license applicants.

1500 Village resident reports she has a bat in her downstair’s bathroom and requests assistance. Patrol responded. Bat was caught and released and unharmed.

1730 Brown female hound mix brought to the police station after found wandering on Main Street vicinity of the Roxy Theater. Owner called to report the dog missing at 1815 and was advised she was at the PD.

1745 Cell caller reported to 911 that he “needs help” on Market Street. No further information provided. Patrols dispatched to check the area. Upon making contact with the caller at the number provided, patrols responded to Maple Street for an altercation.

0450 Received a request to assist another police agency with a traffic hazard on the Old-Potsdam Parishville Road. Patrols responded.

0515 Received a request to assist Canton-Potsdam Hospital staff with a 53-year-old male who was intoxicated and disruptive in the ER. Patrols responded and assisted the staff without incident.

0821 Patrols dispatched to a call on Main Street where caller reports a disoriented male in her yard. Subject located and provided with a courtesy transport to his brother’s residence.

0824 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to mutual aid call in Norfolk.

0843 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to a call in Norwood.

1354 Received call from CPH reporting harassing phone calls from a former patient.
