MENACING - MASSENA - Village police charged Christopher A. Richards, 30, of 176 North Main St., Massena, with criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree harassment, second-degree menacing and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child Tuesday afternoon following an investigation into a domestic dispure that took place at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Richards alegedly grabbed his wife, Amy E., by the throat and squeezed hard enough so that she could barely breathe and then slammed her against the window, according to court documents. He also reportedly slapped his wife during the argument. He also reportedly grabbed a gun loaded with a red cartridge and made threats during an argument that took place in front of three children, ages 3, 5 and 6.
He was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
