Massena woman jailed for alleged probation violation

BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Micheline M. Cogdill, 23, of 66 Woodlawn Ave., Apt. 2, Massena, formerly of Hurley Road, Brasher Falls, on a county court bench warrant for an alleged probation violation. She was sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility pending an appearance Friday in county court.

Village police had charged Cogdill and Heather R. Deragon, 17, of 32 Howard St., Massena, with felony counts of second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny following an investigation into an incident Sept. 30 at the Tammy Stark residence, 128 Liberty Ave. Deragon was additionally charged with second-degree criminal trespass.

Police allege the two women stole a jewelry box filled with jewelry valued at approximately $1,500 in the early afternoon hours of Sept. 30. Deragon reportedly entered the house and stole the jewelry box while Cogdill waited in the car for her.

They were both indicted by a grand jury on the felony burglary and grand larceny charges.

Deragon was also picked up on a county court warrant for an alleged probation violation earlier this week.
