Unionville man charged with driving with suspended license

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION - POTSDAM — A Unionville man who stopped to let a pedestrian cross the street, then was rear-ended, was sent to jail after being accused of driving with a suspended license.

Potsdam Village Police charged Dushawn L. Williams, 38, with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation at 8:37 a.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Williams stopped for a pedestrian in the crosswalk on Clarkson Avenue in Potsdam, in front of Walker Center, then was rear-ended by Larry K. Allen, 54, of Colton, who was ticketed for following too closely.

Officers found Mr. Williams’s license was suspended in the accident’s aftermath. He was sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
