FORT COVINGTON - Malone-based state police said a Fort Covington woman was jailed after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend early Tuesday morning during a domestic dispute.
Troopers said they were dispatched shortly after midnight Tuesday to 2556 Chateaugay Street in Fort Covington to assist the Fort Covington EMS with a subject who had fallen out of bed.
Wayne J. Henault, 64, was found with a small puncture wound to his back. He ws transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center for treatment. It was then discovered that the wound resulted from being stabbed and Henault was taken for emergency surgery.
State police said they determined Mr. Henault and his live-in girlfriend, Joan F. Terrel, 64, were involved in a dispute when Ms. Terrel stabbed him with a knife.
Terrel was charged with first-degree assault. She was arraigned by Fort Covington Town Justice Clayton J. Almond and sent to the Franklin County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
