Massena- John “ Jack” P. Flynn, 89 formerly of Massena died Sunday morning (July 29, 2012) at the home of his son who he resided with for the past four years in Center Conway, NH.

Family and friends are invited to call Thursday afternoon from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held Friday 12 noon (August 3, 2012) at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding. Interment with full military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.

Surviving Jack is his son Kevin of Center Conway, NH, his daughter Nancy and husband Duncan Brown of Potsdam, NY grandchildren Chris and Joleen King, Allison and Bart Cass, Kevin M. Flynn, and Patrick Flynn, four great grandchildren also

His sister Joan Greene of Vestal, NY. several nieces and nephews.

Jack was born in Watertown, NY March17, 1923 the son of Charlie and Sue (Coseo) Flynn. Jack proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. He earned a Purple Heart and was awarded the Bronze Star for his valor. Following his honorable discharge he married Dorothy Cleary June 21, 1947 at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Bernard Kellogg presiding.

Dorothy preceded him death January 18, 2003.He and his late wife Dorothy owned and operated Flynn’s Motel and Flynn’s Broaster for many years.

Jack was a past member of the Massena Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Massena Elks Lodge B.P.O., E # 1702.Jack enjoyed many years spending his winters in Naples. FL.
