LOUISVILLE— An afternoon fire destroyed a modular home and car on Tuesday, leaving nine people homeless.

What started the fire, located at 5472 County Route 14, Louisville, remains under investigation, police said. The property, which was reported as insured, was owned by Lloyd Seguin and occupied by Joanne Yerdon, as well as eight others. All escaped unharmed, but a firefighter did sustain minor injuries.

The Louisville Fire Department and the Massena Rescue Squad responded to the alarm just before 4 p.m.
