AKWESASNE - CKON-Fort Brickhouse closed out its North Country Mens Summer Soccer regular season by blanking Chips Place of Potsdam 3-0 on Wednesday.
Brandon Mitchell finished off a play set up by Jordan Lauzon and David Henrie to open the scoring. Tim Cook made it 2-0 off an assist from Ted Cook before Lauzon capped the scoring in the second half assisted by Mark Darling.
Ted Cook made five saves backstopping the shutout while Richard Bradshaw handled 12 shots in the losing cause.
In other regular season finales on Wednesday, Pepsi-The Place battled the Parishville Timberwolves to a 1-1 tie while McDuffs-CJs and Lisbon settled for a 1-1 draw. Frarys Funeral Home of Ogdensburg gained a forfeit win over Potsdam County Seat Realty.
The league playoffs are slated to open on Sunday with four quarter-final round matchups.
Pepsi-The Place I 1, Parishville 1: Conor Hannan tied the score late in the game for The Place-Ogdensburg Pepsi. Josh Avery scored for the Timberwolves.
Bill Gemmill made nine saves for Ogdensburg. Dustin Andrus had 13 saves for Parishville.
Lisbon 1, McDuffs-CJs 1: Bryan Seymour scored for Murrays-The Place II to tie the game at 1-1 in the second half from Dan Vallance.
Franco Bari scored for McDuffs-CJs in the first half from Bryant Wickwire.
Scott Lawton made 12 saves for Murrays-The Place II. Tony Betrus stopped four shots for McDuffs-CJs.
