POTSDAM Undercover police officers will use crosswalks and ticket drivers who dont stop for them during the village of Potsdam Police Departments crosswalk safety campaign until late August.
Offenders could be fined up to $100 plus court surcharges, said Police Chief Kevin A. Bates.
Weve issued more warnings, Chief Bates said. Were trying to educate the motorists that they have to be aware of the pedestrians.
Police plan to especially target the crosswalk next to the Roxie Theater on Main Street and several locations without walk lights on Market Street.
