The state Board of Elections tossed challenges to three Republican Assembly candidates’ efforts to get on the Sept. 13 primary ballot and the Nov. 6 general election ballot.

In hearings in Albany on Tuesday, the board affirmed that Assemblywoman Janet L. Duprey, R-Peru, had enough signatures from the Republican and Independence parties’ members to qualify for the ballot and that David J. Kimmel, a Republican of Clinton County, had enough Republican Party signatures. The campaign of Karen M. Bisso, the Conservative Party’s candidate and a hopeful for the Republican line on Sept. 13, had disputed the petitions.

The district stretches into four St. Lawrence County towns: Brasher, Piercefield, Lawrence and Hopkinton. It also includes Franklin and Clinton counties.

The board also upheld the Independence and Conservative parties’ petitions for Assemblyman Marc Butler, R-Newport. Joseph Chilelli, a Herkimer County Democrat running for the seat, had challenged the signatures.

The district includes the St. Lawrence County towns of Madrid, Norfolk, Stockholm, Parishville, Pierrepont, Clare, Colton, Clifton and Fine.
