GOUVERNEUR A Gouverneur man serving time on a criminal-contempt conviction was arrested by village police at 9:24 a.m. Thursday for allegedly disobeying a court order.
Ryan M. Redmond, 34, of 5366 Route 58, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt stemming from an incident in early July.
Mr. Redmond, who pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal contempt in early April, was sentenced to one year in jail and five years probation on June 20.
While he was released for a brief period, he allegedly made contact with Jamie McIntosh, with whom he shares a child, July 9 at St. James School playground. Ms. McIntosh holds an order of protection against him.
Mr. Redmond was arraigned and ordered held without bail, then taken back to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton.
