Onlookers lined Ogdensburgs municipal docks Thursday as the U.S.S. Edson, a retired Navy destroyer, passes by the city on the St. Lawrence River. The destroyer is en route to Saginaw, Mich., where it will rest as part of the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum. First launched in 1958, the destroyer is named after Colonel Merritt A. Edson, who served in the Marine Corps Reserve during World War I and II, and received the Medal of Honor. The 418-foot destroyer is accompanied by two tug boats. (Purcell photo)
