MASSENA - A headline on page 1 of Thursday’s Daily Courier-Observer was inaccurate first. It should have stated Sen. Shumer urged the Environmental Protection Agency to fast track its decision on the clean up plan for the Grasse River. The senator is urging the EPA to adopt a $200 million cleanup that he hopes will play a role in convincing Alcoa’s Board of Directors to move forward with a $600 million plus modernization plan in Massena.
