A Watertown woman who avoided sentencings in Watertown and town of LeRay courts spent a night in jail, with court appearances awaiting her.

Heather A. Mims, 33, of 24851 Arbor Drive, was arrested Wednesday by state police and Watertown police on bench warrants, and was placed in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building. Bail was set at $1,500 by LeRay Town Justice John W. Hallett.

Ms. Mims was charged in February 2010 by city police with second-degree counts of falsifying business records and criminal impersonation after she used an assumed name, Sara Ficcone, on documents at Samaritan Medical Center to avoid being billed for her emergency room treatment. She subsequently pleaded guilty to the impersonation count, but never returned for sentencing, according to City Court. She was sentenced Thursday to three years probation and was assessed $200 in court fees.

Her town of LeRay case dates back to November, when she was cited with petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child in a shoplifting incident which occurred while she was accompanied by a child. She pleaded guilty Feb. 8 to petit larceny, and was given an adjournment for sentencing. Again, she missed her court date. Sentencing is still pending in that case.
