Thirteen proved to be anything but an unlucky number for the Place II in Thursday nights action from the Ogdensburg Womens Softball Playoff Finals.
After scoring 13 runs in the top of the seventh inning the Place II held off Myers Pub in the bottom of the inning to record a 25-24 victory.
A victory which sent the double elimination playoff finals to a deciding final game which was suspended in the second inning with Myers Pub holding a 6-4 lead. The game will be completed on Monday night at the Champlain Street diamond beginning at 6 p.m.
The league will hold its awards banquet tonight at the VFW beginning at 5 p.m.
The Place II prevailed with a flurry of extrabase hits which included a homerun, two doubles and a single by Ginnelle Morley; a homerun, a double and a single by Andrea Duvall, a triple, a double and two singles by Jill Havens, a triple and two singles by Jackie Sullivan, a triple by Chelsea Bice and a double and two singles by Taylor Jordan.
Rachel Morley stroked four singles and Jen Dashnaw, Katie OConnor and Abbey Basford each singled.
Courtney McDonald launched a homerun and singled and Kate McCarney belted two doubles and a single to lead Myers Pub. Shannon LaFave singled three times, MaryBeth Davis and Nikki Sharpe stroked two singles and Jade Vernsey and Alyssa Farrell singled.
