MASSENA - The New York State Police in St. Lawrence County recently participated in the statewide efforts to enforce speeding violations, to prevent traffic collisions in which speed is a leading contibuting factor.
The efforts coincided with the NASCAR race held in Watkins Glen. Known as the Speed Week, the campaign was held between Aug. 6 and Aug. 12.
Troopers in St. Lawrence County, with a combination of regular patrols and special details, report 316 tickets were issued with 99 of them issued to speeding motorists. Troopers also made seven DWI arrests and four DWAI drugs arrests.
