WATSON A town of Watson man was charged Saturday with third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, Lewis County sheriffs deputies said Wednesday.
Deputies said they tried to pull over Shaun K. Elliott, 26, of 6755 Number Four Road, for an unspecified traffic violation on Number Four Road but lost him after a short pursuit. However, state police later located Mr. Elliott and took him into custody.
He is to answer the charge and numerous other violations in Watson Town Court, according to a Sheriffs Department release.
Mr. Elliott in April was released from the Willard Drug Treatment Campus after spending nearly two years in the state prison system on a third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance charge, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. He was accused in that case of selling morphine and hydrocodone and possessing Adderall and 28.5 grams of marijuana in the village of Lowville.
