CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Christopher J. Kocienski, 39, of 1859 state Route 420, Massena, with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana early Friday afternoon.

Troopers said they went to 49 Brighton St. to pick up Kocienski on a county court warrant and found him hiding in a bedroom inside the residence.

They said a metal marijuana smoking devices and less than 25 grams of marijuana and Suboxone sublingual film packets were located inside the bedroom where Kocienski was hiding.

He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow on the drug charges and was sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $500 cash or $1,000 bond. He is also being held on the county court warrant pending an appearance in St. Lawrence County Court.
