Two men in a vehicle took turns Sunday evening aiming and discharging a gun at a moped rider in the 1500 block of Washington Street, according to Watertown police.
The weapon turned out to be a cap gun, but it looked and sounded like the real thing to the man on the moped, police said.
Elijah S. Tirado, 19, and Cristobal Estebane, 20, were arrested on Ward Street on charges of second-degree menacing. They were turned over to military authorities with orders to appear in City Court.
Mr. Tirado, who was driving, discharged the initial shots, and then Mr. Estebane took over the toy gun play while the moped rider, Lyle H. Walts, 64, Watertown, rode away from the vehicle, police said.
