North Lawrence man jailed on weapons count


CRIMINAL POSSESSION WEAPON - NORTH LAWRENCE - A North Lawrence man has been jailed on $10,000 cash bail after sheriff’s deputies executing a search warrant at his 37 Grove St. residence found two Glock high powered magazines containing hollowpoint ammunition in his bedroom.

St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Jeremey M. Cyrus, 30, of 37 Grove Street North Lawrence with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Deputies said the ammunition was located when police were executing a search warrant on an unrelated case at his residence.

They said they found two 9 mm high capacity magazines marked as being for law

enforcement/ government use only loaded with hollowpoint ammunition.

Cyrus was arraigned by Lawrence Town Justice James McCuin and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $10,000 cash. He is scheduled to return to court on Monday.

Deputies said their investigation is continuingand more charges are pending.
