CANTON - A shed behind the Edward C. Seymour Veterans of Wars Post 1231 caught fire early Thursday morning but a quick response by the Canton Fire Department limited the damage to the shed and an adjacent gazebo. Firefighters responded to the 34 Gouverneur St. club around 6:15 a.m. to find the shed completely engulfed. A nearby shed on the Law Lane property was singed and the vinyl siding on the south side of the VFW Post was melted. The fire is under investigation.
