Troopers charge drivers with DWI in Brasher, Massena


CANTON - The following were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses this past weekend:

n John W. Logan, 49, of 361 County Route 50, town of Brasher, was charged by state police at 6:42 p.m. Saturday with aggravated DWI and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Mr. Logan was driving on County Route 50 when he got into an unspecified property damage accident, police said. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.23 percent. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or more constitutes intoxication. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more.

n Christopher C. Johnston, 24, of 201 Bromaghin Road, Ogdensburg, also was charged by state police at 12:23 a.m. Sunday with consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Mr. Johnston was driving on Water Street, Massena when he was stopped by troopers for allegedly driving without a seat belt. His BAC was measured at 0.12 percent, and a vial with buprenorphine, a controlled substance, was found in his pocket, police said.

n Kyle R. Matott, 42, Dayton Road, Potsdam, was charged by state police at 12:53 a.m. Sunday on County Route 53 in Brasher after he was stopped for failure to keep right, police said. His BAC was 0.11 percent, they said.
