CAR-PEDESTRIAN - MASSENA - A 81-year-old Massena man told police he was not injured after being struck by a vehicle and knocked to the pavement Thursday afternoon in the Walmart parking lot.

Village police said Rita M. Gebo, 71, of Winthrop was leaving Walmart when she struck Lawrence A. Tyo, 82, of Stanton Road, Massena, in a pedestrian crosswalk near the front of the store.

Mr. Tyo told police the 1997 Nissan struck him in the middle of his back. He had no complaint of pain but was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital by Massena Rescue for evaluation following the incident reported at 3:06 p.m. Thursday.

Village police said their investigation into the incident is continuing.
