Cattleman’s under new management

MORRISTOWN – Cattleman’s Steak and Ale on Main Street is under new management, again, and is looking to attract a more river orientated crowd.

“I’ve got 27 years of [restaurant management] experience,” said John Hagopian, describing his food service credentials.

Mr. Hagopian took over management this week from Ian O’Brien and is in the process of purchasing the restaurant.

“There are going to be menu changes, a new atmosphere. We’re going to have a tiki bar next summer,” said Mr. Hagopian listing off updates he hopes to make to the iconic Cattleman’s.

“It’s a gorgeous river location,” said Mr. Hagopian. He hopes to take full advantage of it.

Next summer’s tiki bar will feature food that is easy to eat on the go and beer in cans, Mr. Hagopian said, perfect for those spending a day on the water looking for a bite to eat.

Cattleman’s is also getting a heart-healthy menu addition and will be running seasonal options.

“We will have a heavier menu in the winter and a lighter menu in the summer,” said Mr. Hagopian.

The bar will also feature daily specials.

Today marks the restaurant’s grand reopening.

“Coyote Moon vineyards is coming to do wine tasting and sell wine from 5 to 7 p.m.,” said Mr. Hagopian.

A DJ will host the event from 5 to 10 p.m., and the bar will be selling jello shots.
